What am I to think?

A fool's brain digests philosophy into folly, science into superstition, and art into pedantry. Hence University education!

George Bernard Shaw

It would seem that G. B. Shaw was quite the cynic! I did not study art in college, but my science classes were properly rooted in the scientific method (in Shaw's day, I am sure things were still very different in that regard). Also, I had one really excellent philosophy professor (who often used some really colorful language!). He was quite a character. Early in his career, he was a Southern Baptist minister. However, during the 1960's Civil Rights movement, he became totally disgusted with the hypocritical Southern Baptist support for the oppression of blacks. I understand that he actually marched with Southern blacks in support of their civil rights. That kind of moral courage literally caused the death of some white civil rights supporters!
